your name: Lumos12
clan they're going to: Iron Brigade
what will you name them?: Arcticfreeze or Frostbite
gender/pronouns: nonbinary (he/him)
what is this cat's worst fear? why?:
The worst logical fear at least for them is to find themselve wandering the endless darkness, alone and there is no end to it. To keep walking endlessly for miles with no way of finding a way out just going deeper and deeper into the darkness, loosing that sense of hope has time seems to slip on by for hours, days, months, and even more terrifying years.

your name: Talonpaw
clan they're going to: Mistyclan
what will you name them?: Faefrost
gender/pronouns: They/them (afab)
what is this cat's worst fear? why?: Faefrost has always been afraid of being forgotten. Thankfully it’s never really been much of a problem, as their looks are difficult to forget. However, as a small kitten, they weren’t accepted by their parents and scrutinized by others. It became difficult for them to even interact with others entirely until their their travels brought them to Mistyclan. Many cats there are different, yet accepted as a part of the group regardless. Now they still can’t help but worry that their clanmates will leave them, no matter how much evidence their is against it.

your name: sharpiesandhamilton
clan they're going to: chessclan what will you name them?: fantômestare
gender/pronouns: non-binary; they/them (amab)
what is this cat's worst fear? why?: fantômestare's greatest fear is losing all those they love in one great disaster. the idea plagues their dreams in the form of nightmares, causing them to try and push their friends away. they had the opportunity to speak up in their former home, an opportunity that would have saved countless lives, but they chose not to because of an intense fear. after running from their mistake, they began to realize that maybe they were destined to always lose everybody love. this fear is rooted deep in their heart, and there may be a cat waiting in chessclan that can help them overcome their fear.

your name: Ness
clan they're going to: Pillar Clan
what will you name them?: Icedancer
gender/pronouns: He/Him (AMAB)
what is this cat's worst fear? why?: Icedancer's worst fear is twoleggers. When he was younger, a twolegger and their monster took his family away. Then, as he grew older and older, he realized all twoleggers were to be mistrusted. They would either scream and point at him, try to capture him, or shine bright lights on him from their hands. While not as scary as some things, twoleggers are the worst for him, causing him to run without thinking, giving him panic attacks, and making him shut down entirely. He will hurt himself trying to run, the fear is so deep.

your name: broken*
clan they're going to: yangclan (site)
what will you name them?: whitewaste
gender/pronouns: male (he/him)
what is this cat's worst fear? why?: whitewaste's worst fear is always being on the outside of every group of cats that he meets, of never really having anyone to call his friends or who even really accept him for who he is. his mother abandoned him as a newborn due to his lack of upper legs & lack of ears, and so he has only ever known struggle pretty much his entire life. he just wants to find someone who loves him as he is, whether it be a romantic or just a platonic love, who can look past his differences and get to know who he is underneath the outward appearance.

i hate this i hate this i HATE THISthe loch ness monster, affectionately known as "nessie," is said to inhabit loch ness in the scottish highlands. it is typically described as a large, long-necked creature, typically with one or more humps sticking out of the water, which i didn't wind up adding onto the cat because i wanted to stop looking at it. the first (reported) sighting of nessie was in 1933, and it immediately sparked a widespread interest in the monster.
to the dismay of many a cryptidzoologist, most scientists attribute sightings of nessie to hoaxes, either created by the "witness" or by someine taking advantage of those who go to loch ness in hopes of spotting the creature, wishful thinking (i.e: you want to see it, so you do,) or misidentification or objects like logs, or more mundane creatures.
the first modern sighting of nessie may have been in the 1870s, when d. mackenzie claimed to have seen something "wriggling and churning up the water". this account was not published until 1934, however, after the first article to generate widespread interest in the creature. however, articles about an unidentified creature in loch ness existed prior to the one written in 1933.
the aforementioned article was published on May Second, 1933, in the inverness courier, about a large "beast" or "whale-like fish". the article was written by alex campbell, a water bailiff (basically water police) for loch ness and a part-time journalist. the article concerned a sighting by aldie mackay, or an "enormous creature" with the "body of a whale" that was "rolling in Loch Ness" as she and her husband, john mackay drove on the A82 on april fifteenth, 1933. campbell's article was reported in some places to be the first time the word "monster" was used to describe the creature in loch ness, although other reports claim the first person to refer to the creature as such was editor evan barron.
there's far too much information about nessie for me to cover any substantial amount of it concisely, so i will leave you all with what i think nessie is.
i think the sightings are due to lost sturgeons. those fuckers are HUGE. sometimes they cause serious injury or death by mistake, because theyre HUGE, heavy, like jumping out of the water, and live in lakes people swim in. other than that, though, theyre rather gentle giants. here is a good photo of one jumping out of the water. it took me a bit to find a good photo of a sturgeon where you could see how big it was that wasn't a photo of a bunch of fishermen grinning at the camera while holding up a dead one, because i think just how huge and powerful these bastards are is showcased best when they're, yknow, alive and flinging themselves fully out of the water with agility they SHOULD NOT HAVE considering their size. seriously. the sturgeon i think nessie is (atlantic sturgeon) can reach sizes up to 4.6 metres (fifteen feet) and 360 kilograms (800 pounds.) they're shy, though, which is why it's so hard to get photos of live ones in action.
...ill stop talking about sturgeon now. fucking love sturgeon. did you know that they're functionally immortal? literally theyre so cool. i cant believe i have a favourite fish, thats so nerdy, but theyre my favourite fish.

your name: Ness (wow I share a name with this bet none of you guessed that) clan they're going to: Pillar Clan what will you name them?: Call of the Lake gender/pronouns: They/Them (AFAB) considering this cat's large size, how do they hide from unwanted attention?: Call of the Lake likes to hide from attention by crawling under tree roots or diving deep under water. Under the water, they make a home in deep caves where no one can find them but the fish. In Pillar Clan, they hide under a tree of their own, a tall showboat of a tree whose root structure made a small, algae ridden pond underneath (that is probably killing said tree, but nature does that sometimes). Their color in the pond's water is nearly impossible to make out, and there is a lot to be said for the colorblind-nessie of other cats. Not many wish to look for Call of the Lake, crawling under a half rotting tree into a swampy pond. But if they did, they'd still have problems finding the long necked cat. form number (in order of forms—first person is 1, next person is 2, etc etc:) 1
