your name: bsktcase
clan they're going to: viridian court
is that clan a site clan? yes! what will you name them?: The Knight ichor a beating // Beatingichor
gender/pronouns: male, he/him
are they superstitious about anything? if so, what and why?: He'd like to say he isn't and normally does when others ask. Though he believe strange things are destined to happen on full moons. He dreads whenever they happen and tries to get away by staying in the knights' quarts in his nest. That normally doesn't save him from the strangeness of what he sees as strange though to happen.

bigfootbigfoot, also known as sasquatch, is an ape-like being that reportedly lurks in forests all over north america. evidence of bigfoot's existence is more plentiful than that of some other cryptids, with a substantial amount of videos, photographs, eyewitness testimony, casts of large footprints, and more. however, many of these pieces of evidences have been confirmed as hoaxes, so make of that what you will. folklorists, those who study a branch of anthropology (the study of humanity and human behaviour) that focues around *gasp* folklore, attribute bigfoot to a number of factors and sources, including but not limited to the beliefs of indigenous tribes in north america (i could not find specific tribes named, but specific tribes are named later on,) beliefs of loggers (people who go chop chop at trees for a living,) and an increase in concern over the environment amongst the general population. within circles that study cryptozoology, or the study of cryptids, bigfoot is considered a cryptid. however, the majoirty of scientists not involved in the cryptozoology subculture have widely discredited the existence of bigfoot, chalking itup to a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoaxes. those who have claimed to see bigfoot describe it as a large, hairy, muscular, bipedal ape, roughly 1.8-2.7 meters tall (6-9 feet,) and covered in black, dark brown, or dark, reddish hair.to the shock of literally nobody, bigfoot has...large feet, sometimes as long as 60cm, or approximately two feet, and 20cm wide, or over half a foot. some casts of bigfoot prints have contained claw marks, raising the question of if these prints belong to a mythical creatures, or to a mundane one, such as a bear.most cultures have stories of humanoid giants in their folk history, according to ecologist robert pyle. chief mischelle of the nlaka'pamux nation in british columbia, canada, told such a story to charles hill-trout, a folklorist and ethnologist (someone who compares and analyzes the differences and similarites between peoples and how they interact,) all the way back in 1898. he did not refer to the creature as bigfoot, of course, but by a salishan name meaning "the benign-faced-one." heartbreakingly, all salishan languages are critically endangered, some with only two or three speakers left in the entire world, and the exact name he referred to the creature as may be lost to time and colonisation.if i went into detail about every humanoid giant creature from cultures around north america, we would be here all day, so ill leave things off here and encourage you to do your own research! this is the first of two releases today. you may try out for both, but you may only win oneyour name:

krakenthe kraken is a legendary octopus-like monster, although sightings of it were more likely due to giant squid. the kraken is most prevalent in scandinavian folklore, and according to the norse sagas, the kraken lurks off the coasts of norway and greenland, terrorising nearby sailors. the size and terrifying appearance of the terrible ocean dweller have made it a commonplace ocean monster in many a fictional tale. the kraken has notably been the focus of superstitious sailors passing through the north atlanic, and particularly sailors from the nordic countries (denmark, finland, iceland, norway, sweden, and greenland) due to their proximity to the north atlantic and the monster's scandinavian origin. throughout the centuries, the kraken has been the subject of many a sailor's tall tale and superstition.the english name for the kraken is taken from contemporary scandanavian languages, originating from the old norse word kraki, possibly meaning "pale," although i could not obtain much information. in norwegian and swedish, "kraken" is the definite form of the word krake, which itself refers to a sickly animal or something twisted, similar to the english word "crook" or "crooked." in german, "kraken" means both octopus and the beast itself. finally, kraken was once used as a swedish euphemism for "whale," because the word "whale," became taboo, as the sailors thought saying it would summon one. like i said, sailors are a superstitious bunch. this is the last of two releases today, and the last cryptid! you may try out for both, but you may only win one

your name: Bakusatsuou
clan they're going to: IslandClan
what will you name them?: Jellybelly
gender/pronouns: Genderfluid (all the pronouns,,,,)
this cat isnt as young as they look, theyre just awfully small! being an adult, how does this cat feel when others mistake them for a kit?: Being mostly unused to having any kind of company, Jellybelly has some mixed reactions to being confused for a kit. When it comes to cats within the Clan that they've found living on their lake, they think it's amusing when the kits don't understand why they don't grow bigger with them. When it comes to potential threats, their size serves a unique opportunity where they think Jellybelly is young and inexperienced. This is a grave mistake, and has ended with many a strange cats being dragged into the depths of their lake.

your name: Kazin
clan they're going to: Sky Valley
what will you name them?: Fang
gender/pronouns: tom, amab; he/him
what is this cat's "happy place?": Fang feels most at home in the shadows. He prefers darkness to light, and almost exclusively is active at night rather than in the morning. Other cats joke that he sees the sun as his 'mortal enemy,' but truthfully Fang just loves peace and quiet. Calm nights of Leafbare are his absolutely favorite, especially if the moon is full.
