Post 01 Finnegan watched as his so-called mate left the city he called home. They had just had an argument this morning because she did not want to raise their kits here, however, he could not leave. What if his family was to return? She had argued that they were gone, but he would never take that chance and insisted they stay. His mate had agreed eventually, and while he spent the day doing his rounds of touching base with a few cats that helped him keep watch of his claimed neighborhood he heard word that she was planning to leave. Finnegan could not think she would so he caught her favorite meal before going to meet with her. That is when he saw her leaving, running as fast as she could, out of the bounds of his neighborhood. Finnegan dropped the bird he had just caught and watched as his pregnant mate ran away, unable to run after her. How could she not understand that his home was here? That he had cats to protect here? It was safe here…
“Don’t worry Finnegan, there are plenty of mollies out there.” Duke joked around, Finnegan put on a fake smile and didn’t mention the unborn kits or the fact that this has happened multiple times.
“She never liked the city anyways, I have cats here to protect. So many beautiful mollies to care for.” Finnegan chuckled as best he could, trying to keep his feelings away as best he could.
“Speaking of mollies, I heard that there are two new cats in the park. They seemed to have caused some commotion by going into Winter’s garden.” Duke informed.
“Obviously new to the area, they should know not to go into other cat’s gardens.” Finnegan tsked. “I will keep an eye on them, thank you for letting me know.” Finnegan turned, leaving the bird he had dropped, his tail low as he trudged along, towards the park. Once Duke was out of sight he let out a low sigh and muttered a very quiet “Good bye my sweet…”

Post 02 Finnegan watched the two mollies for a few days, he was sure they would be of no threat to his neighborhood, so he finally moved to introduce himself. “Hello,” he meowed pleasantly, his tail high in greeting. He noticed that one of them moved in front of the other as if to protect her. “I don’t mean to cause harm, I am a friend to all mollies.” he purred.
Russentnose’s eyes narrowed at that comment, “We don't need your help, just go away.” she hissed.
“You’re the one in my neighborhood.” Finnegan kept his smile and friendliness.
Both mollies looked at each other in confusion, what is a neighborhood? Goldenflower shrugged at the molly and looked at Finnegan, “Who are you?” she asked.
“You have never heard of me before? My name is Finnegan, and this is my neighborhood. I keep all that stay here protected.” The watcher explained.
“We have been here for a few days now and have never seen you or any other cat until now.” Russentnose exclaimed.
“Just because you don't see us does not mean we are not watching, I am sure you have learned that already?” Finnegan smirked.
Russentnose growled quietly while Goldenflower shuffled on her feet. It was Goldenflower who spoke up, “We are not causing any trouble, just need a safe place to stay for a while.”
“I provide safe, are you staying in the park while you are here?” The watcher asked.
“I don’t need your help!” Russentnose snapped.
“I’m sure, but it could never hurt to have more eyes and paws around. What are your name’s again?” Finnegan asked.
“I am Goldenflower and this is my friend Russentnose.” The molly stepped forward. Russentnose went to protest but Goldenflower shot her a quick glare, “I appreciate your offer, and we should only be here until my kits are old enough to travel.”
“I have not seen any kits, or scented any?” Finnegan looked around with wide eyes. How could he have missed them?
“They have not been born just yet.” Goldenflower whispered.
“I see. Well, the park is fairly safe, if you go further in there is a large tree with a den right under it. Upwalkers don’t venture anywhere near it and there are plenty of birds and squirrels to hunt.” Finnegan backed away. The topic of kits was still touchy and he had no idea this molly was expecting. How strange she shows up for a safe place while his own mate left because she thought it was unsafe here. He will show her though, he can prove this neighborhood is safe for cats of all ages.
Russentnose watched as Finnegan walked away, his tail dropped slightly, she didn’t care though as she looked to Goldenflower, “You sure you wanna trust that tom?”
Goldenflower shrugged, “I don’t exactly have many options, I don’t plan on staying for very much. I just need my kits to get strong enough to go on journeys and then we can leave.” she meowed as she turned to look for that den he had mentioned.

Post 03 Finnegan met up with Duke after he left Winter in her garden, it had been a moon since he last saw him. When the watcher turned the corner to Duke’s little hide away he spotted the tom walking away, “Duke!” he called out to his friend.
Duke waited for the tom to catch up to him, “Finn.” he greeted dully.
Finnegan joined strides with the tom as they walked, “I am sure you heard that the mollies you mentioned a moon ago are staying?”
“I mentioned them? Must have slipped my mind.” Duke meowed, as if he could care less.
“I know you care more than what you are letting on.” Finnegan muttered.
“Word is one is pregnant, and well.. I hate kits. I have no intention of meeting them.” Duke continued walking on.
“Kits are not so bad, you should at least introduce yourself to the mollies. They are fairly nice once you get to know them.” Finnegan pressed.
“They have clan names, I have no desire to converse with those kinds of cats.” Duke muttered as he poked around in the upwalker garbage.
“Come with me, I am going to meet with them now.” Finnegan suggested.
“Nope. And keep that red one away from here when you patrol.” Duke grumbled.
“Russentnose, is very sweet. Very talkative too.” Finnegan smiled.
Duke looked at the tom, “I know. I have ears, and I don’t want that constant chitter chatter around.” he went back to rummaging.
Finnegan shrugged, “Scaredy cat.” he taunted. It didn’t work though as Duke didn’t even flinch at the comment, it was pointless though. Duke was always calm and collected and he could always count on him. “So be it, I will see you later.”
Duke watched from the corner of his eye as Finnegan left. Once the tom was out of sight he sighed, “I have no interest in mollies that will just walk away whenever they please, I wish you would learn that Finn.”
Finnegan trotted to the park, he had promised Russentnose a patrol in the morning and he was already late, being sunhigh now. When he got there he could feel the tension in the area, not even the birds were singing. He looked around and spotted Russentnose crouched towards him, eyes glaring claws in his pelt, “You missed me?” he purred.
“You are late for your promise..” She growled.
“Didn’t know you were so starved for some alone time with me.” Finnegan chuckled.
“Don’t be mouse brained. I am dying to get out of this little patch of forest.” Russentnose grumbled, “I don’t know anything about all these stone trees.”
“Buildings, stone trees are called buildings. And this patch of forest is called a park. And that there is a lake. This small, what did you call it? Thunder path? It's just a sidewalk.” Finnegan meowed with sarcasm.
Russentnose growled, “I need out of this park, yesterday. Goldenflower is driving me nuts and since she was able to escape earlier and not listen to me by staying to get rest, I am here all alone.”
“Goldenflower went hunting or just for a stroll?” The tom asked.
“At this point I don’t care.. Lead the way, you promised a patrol.”
“It’s so hot though!” Finnegan complained.
“Not my problem Finn! Should have been here earlier like you said.”
Finnegan winked, “Was busy, but I can show you a little bit.” Finnegan smiled as he led the way, headed straight for Duke. Russentnose needed other cats to talk to, not just him and Goldenflower. The tom listened as Russentnose droned on about how bored she was, how small the park was to her old home. She always avoided the topic of her old friends and the clan she lived with, but he didn't press that matter. It didn’t take them long to get to where he had left Duke, but of course he was nowhere in sight and Finnegan doubted he went back to his little nook in the wall. Oh well, he thought as he continued to show Russentnose the borders of his neighborhood. Returning to the park by sun down, Goldenflower is waiting for them with freshly caught squirrels. He scolded her, but he knew she wouldn’t hurt herself and over do it.

Post 04 Russentnose got up and prodded Goldenflower lightly, “I will be back in a little while, there’s some pigeon left if you get hungry.” Russentnose noticed the lack of appetite from the queen but Goldenflower never seemed to complain. Russentnose then left the little burrow and walked off to look for Finnegan.
Finnegan was already up and laying on a wall of an upwalker nest, his tail dropped down as he teased the small yapping dog below him. A pleased smirk on his face as he teased the dog. He spotted the familiar pelt of Russentnose in the distance and didn’t get up to meet with her, knowing that she would come to him.
When Russentnose was in ear shot Finnegan got up and stretched before he leapt down off the wall, the dog grew quieter then and hardly barked. “Good morning!” Finn purred to Russentnose, she just rolled her eyes and nodded.
“Goldenflower’s breathing is starting to change like you said and she hardly ate anything last night. I came to tell you so you can be there.” Russentnose sounded like a cat that was just reporting the events, there were no big emotions in them. She then turned away and walked on, away from Goldenflower’s direction.
“You're not going to be there?” Finn asked curiously. It made the molly stop for a second before turning towards him.
Russentnose shook her head slightly, “I’m not good with kittings, I don’t like to be around that. I am probably going to look around more, I will be back in a few days. Hopefully the kits will have come by then, just look after Goldenflower for me okay?”
Finnegan nodded, he wasn’t going to force her to be there and he wouldn’t let harm come to Goldenflower. It looked like he wasn’t going anywhere for a while and asked Russentnose, “You mind heading north? I haven’t been that way in some time and I wanted to check out that area. Make sure things are safe and there are no trouble makers around.” The molly nodded and set off in that direction, rubbing her scent on a few things so she could find her way back eventually. Finnegan watched as she left before heading towards Goldenflower’s direction.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Russentnose headed up north like Finnegan had asked her, maybe he was leading her towards another den to stay in for a few days? That would be rather helpful as she had no intention of going back until she was sure the kits had been born. She had the whole day though and thought maybe some exploring was overdue.
Russentnose headed down an alleyway that was rather dark, her hair was on end as she drew towards the center of the alley. Even though she was on high alert she jumped at the shuffling noise behind her.Russentnose turned around and arched her back slightly to make herself seem bigger, it looked like she was the same size as the stranger now. He had the high ground though as he sat on a strange shiny perch. “Who are you? Do you know Finn?” she asked, trying to keep the growl out of her voice.
Duke looked down from his perch, he was supposed to meet Finn.. of course he would force a meet up with this molly. Even after he told Finnegan to keep her away, “Course I know that tom. Let me guess, you’re one of his mollies. Come to tell him you are leaving hmm? They always do.” he scoffed.
Russentnose looked shocked, “What? No. He asked me to patrol up here while he looks after my friend…” she trailed off.
Duke rolled his eyes, he’s heard that before. He turned around and twitched his tail, as if to dismiss the molly and end the conversation. Not in any mood for a noisey molly.
Russentnose looked puzzled and moved closer to the shiny perch the tom was sitting on, she then lifted a paw and gave the shiny object a good wack. The noise was unexpected and it made the tom jump, “Stop that! Haven’t you seen one of these before?” The tom jumped down and shook out his pelt. He then started to walk off in the direction that Russentnose had come.
Russentnose shook her head and followed the black tom, “What is that? The thing you were sitting on.”
“A can, upwalkers throw garbage in them, but they are emptied by other upwalkers. What’s your name?” The tom asked as he continued to walk, he scented the air as he walked, following Russentnose’s trail.
“Rusentnose. What did you mean about Finn? One of his mollies?” Russentnose followed.
Duke shrugged, “Better for you to learn on your own, it won’t be long till you notice it. That's a clan name isn’t it? I haven’t heard one of those in a while. ”
Russentnose then realized where the two were headed, “I don’t think we should go back yet. At least for a few days…” Duke stopped walking and turned around, his head tilted, waiting for an explanation. “Finn is helping my friend. She is a molly but she is expecting a litter any day now.”
Duke nodded and shivered, the thought of kits running around terrified him, “Alright, follow me then and I will show you where I stay, I usually don’t travel far from it.” Duke then turned around and trotted off towards his den, Russentnose following.
“I didn’t get your name?” Russentnose meowed as she followed the large tom.
“Duke.” He simply meowed as they continued down an alley, turning often and clearly getting Russentnose lost. The molly was not even paying any attention and Duke realized how easy it would be to abandon her here and she would never find her way out. He pushed the thought out of his head, he could never do that to any cat.

Post 05 Goldenflower woke up with a sharp pain and she let out a wince, when she looked around the hollow for Finnegan, who was curled up in a nap. Something seemed to have woken him though because he opened his eyes and stared right into hers and asked, “You alright?”
Goldenflower nodded, “I think the kits are on their way.” Another pain made the molly curl up tighter. Finn nodded and got up and moved closer to the molly.
Labor Here
Finn pushed on Goldenflower’s belly, “I think that might be all of them, do you feel any more sharp pains?”
Goldenflower shook her head, “Nope, I am just exhausted.” The molly admitted.
“Well don’t fall asleep just yet, eat some of this first.” Finn pushed the pigeon towards the new mother. “Congratulations on the three fur balls, you have names in mind yet?” He asked.
Goldenflower shrugged, “I didn’t really think of any. Since you helped me I would like for you to name the first born. The little tom right here.” Goldenflower licked the head of an orange tabby tom as it wiggled around with its siblings.”
Finn took a second to think, “He reminds me of rust. Why don’t you name him that?”
Goldenflower nodded, “That sounds good to me. For now I don’t know what to name the others and I would like to rest before I decide.” she admitted.
Finn nodded, “Just eat some first and then I will leave you to it.” Goldenflower obeyed and ate a few bites of food before turning away from it and curling herself around the small newborn kits that slept against her. Finn left the hollow and walked around some, he returned when the sun started to set and slept in Russentnose’s nest. The small mewling from the kits made him smile slightly before he fell asleep.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Duke got up and stretched, he missed his nest, sleeping on the cold hard ground was not fun. He looked over at it and saw that Russentnose was still asleep in it. The tom then left the little hideaway he called home to go hunt for breakfast. It didn’t take him long to catch a sparrow as it ate some crumbs that had been dropped.
He usually would take it to an alley and eat it but he grabbed the bird and trotted back to his home. A habit of his now that he has guests. Duke set the bird down in front of Russentnose and backed away, deciding to wait for her to wake up on her own instead of saying anything. The tom laid at the entrance and watched as the city started to bustle with life.
A few hours had passed and Russentnose finally woke up, when she opened her eyes she saw the sparrow laying in front of her and Duke was looking out of his home. She smiled at his gift and moved towards it to eat. Duke heard her move and he turned, “Rested?” he asked.
Russentnose nodded, “Thank you for the meal, I won’t be able to eat all of this if you want to share?”
Duke shrugged, “Eat what you want, I will finish what is left.” He turned back to look outside as he waited. When Russentnose finished what she could she took the rest to the tom and he started to eat.
Russentnose started to chat as he ate, “I think we should head back to Finn and Goldenflower, it has been a while now.” On another thought, “I.. uh.. don’t know where the park is from here.” The molly smiled with embarrassment.
Duke shrugged and stopped eating, “I know where the park is, when I finish we can head out.” Russentnose nodded as Duke resumed eating, but she didn’t let him eat in silence as she chatted about the excitement of meeting new kits. She had told him she loved kits, just not the whole kitting process. He stayed silent and focused on eating, but found himself still listening to her as she went on about kits.
When he finished he got up and led the way out and towards the park, Russentnose was next to him, still chatting away excitedly, “I wonder if they have names yet?”
Duke learned not to sigh when she chatted on, she had been living with him for a whole moon now and has had very little peace and quiet. He could not wait for her to go back to the park, so he could have his quiet home back.

Post 06 Duke had left when Russentnose started to gush over the kits, taking Finnegan with him. The two talked about the commotion that Finnegan had heard about, ”So what have you heard from the cats in the area? Should we be worried about all the commotion being made?” Duke asked Finn as they trotted on.
Finnegan shook his head, “Na, this situation has happened before. Small cat running around, dogs chasing them.. Sounds like a young cat that is new to these parts. So if you are scared of small cats then be very afraid Duke.” Finn taunted lightly.
Duke rolled his eyes, “You are so immature Finn, when will you grow up?” he muttered. Finn either didn’t hear him or ignored him as they continued on. The pair asked around and eventually got a good idea where the commotion was, closer to the upwalker nests.
Finn sighed, “I bet you a fish that this is a feisty young one.”
Duke rolled his eyes, “Yeah, I will take that bet.” It didn’t take the two long to find a spotted cat, scratching at the doors of upwalker nests and yowling. “Looks like I owe you a fish.” Duke whispered.
Finn smirked but jumped down from the wall and called out to the obviously young and lost cat, “What are you doing? These upwalkers are not nice and if you are not careful they will let those dogs they have, out.”
The young molly whirled around and hissed, fluffing the fur along her spine and sliding her claws out, “Stay back!”
Finn’s ear perked in amusement, “Come on, we won’t hurt you. Why don’t we just leave this area so we won’t get hurt by the dogs…” as if on cue the dogs inside the nest started to bark.
The molly jumped at the noise and hissed again, she looked at Finnegan and nodded, “O-okay.” she stuttered. The trio then left the garden and moved a safe distance along the wall. “Who are you? How did you find me?”
Finnegan shrugged and watched as Duke padded off, bye to you too, he thought. Finnegan eyed the tom before shouting, “I’ll collect that fish next time we meet!” Duke flicked his tail and then disappeared. The leader then looked at the young molly and winked, “I won a bet, he owes me a fish.”
The molly scowled, “I don’t care! Will you answer my questions?!” she growled.
“What questions? Didn’t hear you ask any. Here, follow me. I have to check on a few things on my way back.” Finnegan started off and the molly followed reluctantly. “My name is Finnegan, but every cat calls me Finn, where did you come from?” he asked.
“My name is Dotty and that is none of your business! And I asked how you found me.” She grumbled.
“Don’t be too stubborn now, just trying to help ya out. You know how to fight and hunt or anything? Can you survive outside of an upwalker nest? Or are you a kittypet?” The tom asked.
“All that sounds like gibberish to me. I hate fighting and don’t want to learn how to fight. I am hungry though, do you know where I can find food?” Dotty asked with a bit more enthusiasm than she meant.
Finn chuckled, “Looks like we have a lot to chat about then on our way.” Dotty reluctantly followed her new found mentor. Unsure how she felt about him just yet.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Russentnose shifted in her nest only to feel two small lumps move against her. The molly smiled slightly and licked the top of Rust and Stone’s head before shifting again. Goldenflower of course was curled around Minnow, the smallest of the three kits and that left Rust and Stone out of the warmth. Russentnose didn’t mind sharing though, the two tom kits seemed to love to be around her more anyways and since they shared the hollow she had to get used to it. It is hard to believe that the kits are already a moon old, they already walk around and it won’t be long till they seek out trouble.
Russentnose heard a quiet chuckle from Goldenflower, the mother’s eyes were open and watching her, “Sorry, they don’t like to snuggle with me. It must be your stories, they will be so adventurous…” The molly trailed off.
Russentnose looked at the little toms, “I am sure they will be, Finn says he will have other cats teach them if you wanted. When they are older of course. I assume it will be the same as when we were in the clans. There will be a mentor to teach the cats how to do things, it might be helpful if the local cats would teach them because we don’t know much about this place. All these upwalkers still frighten me and Finn said we have to be wary of some of them, the ones with webs on branches. I don’t want you little ones to get caught by them.”
Goldenflower smiled, “It’s my job to worry like that, I am sure they will grow up to be fine strong cats.”
“Have you thought about staying here? It seems like a safe place to raise your kits.” Russentnose asked.
Goldenflower shrugged, “I do like it here, Finnegan is very helpful and kind. The kits just love him too.” she purred.
Russentnose smiled and nodded, “I am going to go out for a few days, I caught some prey earlier and I will leave it here.”
Goldenflower lifted an eyebrow, “Off to see a tom?” she meowed in a teasing tone.
Russentnose blushed slightly but didn’t say anything. Goldenflower snickered to herself, Russentnose has been leaving Goldenflower alone more and more frequently now. The molly didn’t mind so much because Dotty came and stayed to play with the kits. “I’ll be leaving now.” Russentnose got up slowly and watched as the two tom kits rolled together and continued to sleep, only twitching every now and then.
As the molly left the den she heard Goldenflower murmur, “Take care.”
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Russentnose had spent so many days and nights trying to find Duke’s home. She often got far too lost and ended up wandering around until a familiar pelt found her to lead her back to the park. She was always so thankful that Duke helped her and she found herself liking his company. He always listened to her and made time for her, even if he was just about to do something.
Duke had spent the moon back at his home, it was back to his beloved silence and he liked it that way. Or so he thought. He couldn’t help but find himself wishing he had Russentnose to care for. He found it soothing, bringing her breakfast that he caught, and even listening to her chatting while he ate.
To Duke’s surprise he often found Russentnose around his den, often lost and clearly wondering. He smirked a few times before going to her rescue, “Lost again Russentnose?” he asked the last time.
“Not really, you usually help me out around this part.” she admitted to him.
“Are you looking for something?” Duke asked. Russentnose didn't say anything, Duke knew she was hiding something then, “The park is this way.” he meowed before leading the way. “Do you ever get tired of patrolling around here?”
“Nope!” Russentnose meowed happily, she didn’t want to admit that she was looking for his home, to stay with him and find comfort in him.
Duke shook his head and stayed quiet as he led the way. When the park was in sight Russentnose had stopped, she looked almost sad, but Duke did not say anything as he turned away without a goodbye.
Russentnose watched as he padded away, when he was out of ear shot she sighed and waited just a tad longer before turning around and followed him as quietly as she could.
Duke knew he was being followed, but continued as if he wasn't. He was curious as to what she was after and just continued on towards his den. When he got there he went in and curled up in his nest, looking at the entrance.
Russentnose watched Duke go in, she looked around. It shocked her how close she was to his home but had never found it again. Just then a crack of thunder sounded and rain started to fall, she hadn’t even noticed it was going to rain! The molly dashed into Duke’s home and crashed into him as she tried to get out of the rain.
Duke grumbled from under her, “What are you doing? And why were you following me?”
“Sorry!” Russentnose shuffled more, eventually Duke moved over for her to have some room under the cover above the nest. “I.. I just. I got lost!” Russentnose meowed, still not wanting to admit she wanted his company.
“Wrong.” Duke meowed, waiting for the correct answer.
Russentnose looked out in the rain, “I hate the rain. I hate any storms.” she tried to change the subject, however Duke’s gaze said he would not allow it and he was waiting for an answer. “I wanted to spend time with you.” she whispered.
Duke looked at her in shock, Russentnose wouldn’t meet his stare as she focused on the storm. The thunder caused Russentnose to cover her ears and squeeze her eyes shut, shivering. Duke frowned and got up, moving to block the entrance with his side, shielding the molly from the storm. He didn’t say anything as he looked out of the den.

Post 07 ”So why did you leave your old clan? You sure do talk about it a lot.” Duke asked Russentnose. He was starting to warm up and ask questions now instead of being his usual quiet self.
Russentnose looked at the tom for a quick second with shock, usually she would just chat his ear off, she never expected him to actually be listening. “As much as I loved it there, I didn’t feel at home. I felt like there was more out there and when Goldenflower left I went with her.” she put simply.
“Do you ever want to go back?” The tom asked.
“Wow, two questions hmm?” She teased. “Hmmm, I'm quite at home here and don’t find myself wanting to go back. I have Finn, Goldenflower and her kits, even you. I feel more at home here. Though all these upwalkers could be a bother and I still fear those monsters that they use. But you showed me how to stay out of danger with them.” She started to go on now and Duke listened quietly. Her voice was oddly soothing and he would now miss her if she chose to leave.
The two continued to walk on, Duke did most of the patrol while Russentnose chatted away, he secretly preferred it that way anyways. Duke then noticed the black cat overhead, the cat flicked their ear and looked in a direction Duke had not planned on going. He knew this cat, Scorn, and decided to turn his patrol in the way the tom looked. When Duke looked back he noticed Scorn had left already. "Typical.." he whispered. Russentnose remained unaware and talked about her time as a clan cat.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Calla let out a groan, “Maaapplleee…” she dragged out, “Can we rest now, we have been walking all morning! It's already sun high and my paws hurt.” The orange molly flaked a sniffle.
Maple chuckled, “I guess we can find a place to rest for a bit. Let's find somewhere safer than here though.” The pair of tabby mollies found a quieter place in an alley to rest for a bit. Calla seemed to have plopped down and Maple moved over to her and gave the top of the molly's head a few licks before laying next to her.
Calla tucked her paws under her and closed her eyes, eventually falling asleep. Maple watched her and smiled before looking away and keeping watch. Calla was a kitty pet and wasn’t used to being on her paws so much, but Maple was an alleycat and was used to it.
Calla had been asleep for a little while now, Maple of course stayed alert and watched over her. Her ears perked when she heard the voice of a molly just babbling away, she must be with someone or this cat is crazy, Maple thought. “Calla, wake up sweetness.” she meowed a tad louder than intended.
Duke heard that and perked his ears in the stranger’s direction. Russentnose noticed because she quieted and Duke noticed her fur bristle, “Relax..” he whispered before stepping towards the two mollies. It was obvious one had been sleeping and had no experience in fighting, the other one though, seemed ready. “Hello..” he meowed to them.
Maple relaxed when the larger one sounded calm, it didn’t seem like they would attack. Seconds later Calla seemed to fully wake up because she was wide eyed and looking at them. However, Calla did understand that there could be dangerous cats as she sprung forward with a smile, “Hey there! Look Maple! We found others! Come on let's make friends! Hi my name is Calla and this is Maple.”
Duke took a step back from the over friendly molly and bumped Russentnose forward, seems like the talkative would get along better. Russentnose flicked her tail and smiled back, “Hi! I’m Russentnose and this is Duke. He’s not a big talker…” she meowed.
The four cats moved into the alley a bit, Duke had to lead them in of course as the three mollies were fine chatting away and getting to know each other. If only Finn could see this… the tom thought as he tried to tune the cats out, not even realizing that he was being volunteered to hunt.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Rust crouched down and wiggled his hind end before pouncing on his fighting siblings. He then bit Minnow’s tail rather hard and it caused the both of them to cry out.
“Rust!” Goldenflower growled, “I told you to be careful when you play or you will have to sit in the nest all day again!” she warned.
Rust sighed and muttered, “Babies..” to his siblings before scampering off, it wasn’t his fault that they were so touchy when he joined in. “Hmph!” Just then a bird landed not to far from him and he jumped to some nearby shrub and crouched down, the bird was much larger than him but he didn’t seem to care. He moved closer, making a ton of noise and it scared the bird away.
Stone laughed as he saw Rust’s failed attempt at stalking, “I could have done so much better than that.” he teased.
Minnow licked her fur some and sat down, “Why try to hunt anyways? That bird was bigger than you.”
Rust stuck his tongue out at Stone and glared at Minnow, “Everything is bigger than you… but you can’t be a scaredy cat.”
Goldenflower shook her head, her kits were to much for her now and she wished they could start training now. They were growing bored in the park and she knew it, but Finn said it was the safest place for them till they were ready to train. “Come on you three, just make peace and go eat. After that I want you guys to stay in the hollow as I will be hunting and I don’t need you guys to make noise.” At first the kits did not listen but then they saw Dotty and sprinted after the apprentice, completely ignoring their mother’s wishes.
Finn smiled as he watched them run off, “I will have Dotty watch them and you can get away, I am sure you could use it.”
Goldenflower turned towards the tom, “You have no idea! It's been days since I have seen you two, where have you guys been?”
Finn shrugged, “Here and there, checking on others. I am trying to find an alley cat named Scorn, he might be able to train one of your kits in a few moons. Can’t seem to find him though.” He muttered bitterly. Scorn loved to play games with Finn and appear out of nowhere when it felt like the right time.
“Scorn? He sounds dangerous…” Goldenflower meowed with worry.
“Na, just the opposite really. It is a big softy and fairly reliable once you find him. He probably already knows you are here and has secretly watched out for you. He just doesn’t make it known unless it is the right time.” Finn meowed a tad loudly, incase he was right.
Goldenflower shrugged, “Have fun kit sitting, I am going to hunt.” The molly didn’t waste any time and sprinted off. Finn watched before turning away, there was no way he was watching kits, he would leave that to Dotty.

Post 08 Finnegan rounded the corner on the sidewalk and then saw the smaller black cat just waiting for him. “Don’t do that Scorn.” the leader muttered.
Scorn rolled his eyes, “I know you have been looking for me and I know what you want of me. I don’t know if I want to mentor a kit just yet.” Scorn meowed.
“Why not? I think you would be a great mentor and your skills can definitely be passed on. I am sure it would help them.” Finn encouraged.
“My skill? All I do is stay in the shadows, silent and watching.”
“Yeah.. that is creepy Scorn. I bet you already know all of their names.”
“Yes, I do. I also might know more than you actually.” Scorn smirked. “Like Russentnose and Duke met two new mollies. I only caught the name of one though, her name was Maple. Then I just kept going.”
“Interesting, I am sure I will meet them eventually. Back to the main topic, can you mentor one of them for me? It would be very helpful.” Finn asked.
Scorn shook his head, “I want to think about it more, I think Stone or Minnow might have what it takes to stay silent, but Rust needs a mentor that will keep him busy. And you need to stop sticking Dotty with them kits, she needs to train.”
“I will mentor how I like Scorn. I will keep you in mind, but I plan on getting all the mentors together in about three moons, so just let me know if you would.”
“You will see me there if I choose to be a mentor.”
“Yeah-yeah…” Finn had grown annoyed with the small tom’s attitude. “Stay to your shadows I guess, or don’t. Doesn’t bother me none.” That was a lie, Finnegan hated how hard it was to get in contact with Scorn and even more frustrating to know that Scorn knows just about everything.

Maple saw Calla and Russentnose scamper off, a tinge of jealousy washed over her. She narrowed her eyes at the russet molly and unsheathed her claws, wanting nothing more than to sink them into that pretty pelt. Duke noticed her actions and it made his fur stand on end a tad as he had grown protective of Russentnose, he ever so slowly moved himself in the way. Maple bared her teeth at him and her fur started to rise as well, anger rose in both of their eyes, a battle just seconds away.
Just before it could get any further the two chatty mollies came back and didn’t even seem to notice the two getting ready to fight. It was for the better as they both seemed to calm down and back off from each other, though they both still had their thoughts and would pass glares at each other.
After Calla and Russentnose finished their conversation about the cute little kittens, Duke proposed separate hunting parties. "I think it would be better if Calla and you separate, otherwise we would all starve." Duke teased Russentnose.
"I agree." Maple meowed shortly. Not even waiting for Calla to say anything as she walked out of the little hideaway, waiting for the ginger molly. Calla did follow and let Maple lead the way.
Once they were a good distance out Calla exclaimed, "I like them! It was great running into them! I think I want to stay here with them Maple.” she meowed happily.
Maple hid her frustration, she did not want to share Calla, she did not want other cats around, “Why?” she asked sourly.
Calla shrugged and ignored the tone, “Russentnose and I are becoming great friends and Duke is so caring and just quiet. He was scary at first but he is just.. I don’t know how to put it.”
Maple was shocked, “You don’t like him do you?” they had stopped walking now.
Calla shook her head, “No, no. Not like that, silly. He would be a great friend but I think Russentnose likes him like that and he might like her as well. It is just hard to tell. I want to get to know them more though, and I think you should too. Russentnose said that there is a leader, sort of, and I think we should meet him. She also said that there was a litter of kits! And I would very much like to see them.”
Maple shuddered slightly, “I don’t trust them Calla…” she said in an almost warning tone.
Calla nodded, “I can tell, but you haven’t gotten to know them yet. Please can you at least try? For me?” she pleaded.
Maple sighed in defeat, “Whatever you want Calla…” The two explored some more and eventually met back up with Duke and Russentnose, admitting to the two that they did not hunt, and instead explored and chatted. Duke offered some of their catch and while they all ate Maple asked, "Would you mind introducing us to this leader?"
"Don't forget the kits! I want to meet them the most!" Calla meowed.
Russentnose looked at Duke and smiled, "Sure we can."
Duke looked at Maple, "Finn first, see if he trusts you guys enough to meet the kits."
Maple held back an eye roll, but even she understood his hesitation.

Post 09 ”Hello darling..” Finnegan meowed as he walked down the wall and saw the white pelt of the timid cat.
“Hello Finn, what brings you by today?” Winter asked him quietly.
“Was around… thought I would come and check on you and see how your kits are doing?” Finnegan saw the hurt in the molly’s eyes and she seemed to sniffle. It hit him then as he noticed she had been upset.
“They are gone, my people let others in and just took them. I don’t know why…” she cut off and turned to go back inside the nest.
“Wait, don’t go just yet!” Finn called. He was closer to her now and bumped her head with his. “I’m sorry, I will have to keep a look around and see if I see them in any other up walker nests.”
“You would do that for me?” Winter sniffled before looking at the tom.
Finn’s ear pinned back as he looked at the emotional molly, “Of course I will. I will try to break them out too, but I can’t promise much.”
Winter nodded, she then heard her sound the upwalkers made that usually meant for her to go to them. “I better go now..” she murmured to him.
Finnegan sighed, “When will you leave this place? They took your family, they might even take your claws like some others I know.” he grumbled.
Winter shook her head, “They wouldn’t do that...they mean well. I just…” she paused as she heard the noise again, this time it was louder, “I have to go, bye Finn, please let me know if you see them.”
Finn nodded, “I will try Winter,” He watched the molly dip inside through the flap before jumping back onto the wall.

Goldenflower and Scorn walked on in awkward silence. Scorn knew just about all he needed but she only knew his name.
“So. How long have you know Finnegan?” Goldenflower asked to try and break the silence.
“A while.” Scorn meowed and kept walking.
Silence.
Goldenflower turned to talk again after a while but Scorn stopped her with a stare, “Why don’t you go rescue Dotty from your kits. I can patrol myself. Tell Finn I will see him later.” The molly just stood there and watched as Scorn kept going, she eventually got her shocked state of mind to turn her body and head back to the park.
Scorn peered back behind his shoulder and saw that the molly was walking away. Good. He didn’t need any of that mindless chitter chatter. He rolled his eyes and looked ahead again, just in time to see a fluffy tail disappear around the corner. He picked up his pace to try and catch up but when he rounded the corner he found no trace, not even a scent. His interest grew as he was determined to see who this stranger is.

Stone sat on Minnow, pinning her struggling body to the ground. He was the biggest of the three and pretty much doubled Minnow’s size now. “Stone!” Minnow cried out.
“Not until you say it!” The large tom kit meowed.
“No! I’m right and you know it!” She cried out.
Stone laid down on her now, knowing she wasn’t going anywhere. Rust just snickered at Minnow, “Might as well give up sis, you won’t win.” he added.
Minnow let out a squeaky meow that seemed to draw out as she was being crushed, staying stubborn as always.
Goldenflower then came into view and gave a look of disapproval, “Stone, get off your sister.” she ordered.
Stone didn’t get up at first, “Why? She took my mouse that Finn brought. She said that we had to share but she was wrong.”
Goldenflower shook her head, “Get off her now.” she said with more sternness.
Stone sighed and got up.
Rust bounced over to his mom, “I’m bored!” he complained. “Is Dotty going to come play with us?”
Goldenflower shook her head, “She is training with Finn today. So she won’t be here today. Why don’t I tell you guys a story?”
Rust shook his head, “Naaa… I want to explore!” he declared. This peaked his sibling’s attention too and they joined in and pleaded for the molly to take them around some. She eventually caved in and showed them a few places nearby that she knew were safe.
