“Oh, its you.”
Altair was used to the words that were directed towards them, the incubi took no notice of the words that were empty threats, and even emptier misguided disgust towards what they were. The incubi were running their fingers against spools of fabric, there was nothing that caught their attention. The only time they actually gave a damn when there were weapons involved, but normally whoever’s direct desires at the exact moment gave them away, and it was good enough for them to getaway. They have escaped many scrapes in that form of fashion throughout their childhood.
“what do you want, there is nothing for you.”
Again ignored, Altair kept looking at the spools of fabric. A wicked smirk worked through their face; teal eyes gleaming as they remembered what they were supposed to be doing. They were supposed to find those who haven’t paid their gambling debts, and of course, those always put up a fight, honestly, they loved a good fight.
Especially when whoever the person was, squirmed.
They had saved enough money, a portion of it would be for to start over somewhere away from the grim existence of their past, into somewhere else.

(season is spring) now it was time for a new member to join littlekeep, well has in member at least in considering joining the village and make the entire area at least lived in. for the village was many miles away from the nearest village, and was up in the red sycamore trees. the biggest advantage to have once around.
Altair walked about with their arms behind their head, it was a normal day. the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and it was relatively peaceful. a rare thing for villages of this size, normally it would have collapsed from mere attempts and chance. but they were lucky, to say the least, for littlekeep to last for this long, even with just two members around. xandrie was still testy around them, and would not hesitate to make his point known towards them even if they did try their hardest to appear not had dangerous as he had already experienced with other humans who did not take kindly to other demons, and would take means of violence and whatever to protect what little that they had.
that was the world that they lived in. where humans were still afraid of things that were different from themselves, having to not adjust and accept that there is more than themselves.
shaking their head slightly, they could see that tasle was moving about in their newly adjusted quarters, sweeping the area out with a makeshift broom. tasle was human, and they themselves lived amongst two demons at the moment, something that was unheard by even humans, human-based villages that littered the area from here and there.
“Good morning tasle!”
“Are you always this chipper in the morning?”
“someone is not a morning person, woke up on the wrong side of the bed?” “something like that, well be on the lookout another person will be joining our village.”
“excellent! By the way, have you seen Xandrie anywhere?”
“He went out hunting before the sun rose, I think he should be heading back any minute from now.”
Speaking true to their word, Xandrie had come back with a sheep drape over his shoulders and a goose. Both animals were still very much alive, which was granted to know how talented a hunter was to bring back food items until it was required for them to be slaughtered and used for the proper uses.
Altair barely had to greet the other demon, only waving their hand in response, only getting a grunt in reply. Xandrie was, of course, a demon, but in the terms of how hell worked. There were devils and actual demons. The difference between the two of them was somewhat confusing, but it came with the notion of understanding the difference and not comparing them.
Devils and demons are interchangeably the same, but there was a huge difference between them, those who have completely truly abandoned the path of righteousness for whatever vices that came their way.
Altair could only sigh and nod their head taking the grunt as a form of greeting before leaving themselves for the border of the very front of the forest. That was the only logical explanation. - In Tasle’s own opinion harpies as they come and go, were savage and unpredictable creatures. There was no telling what went behind the sharp and cunning eyes of a prime huntress determined of keeping her own family and her home protected from the notions of others coming to close to taste the fury of a harpy.
This was not what they had in mind when they met the unaware harpy that was digging groves with her talon’s feet, her brilliant feather-ruffling gently in the breeze, has her head titled slightly her attention was taken elsewhere for the moment. For what they understood that all birds alike, not just magpies liked these shiny objects.
It must be awkward for a talon having a person to gather things with her talons, then rather with her hands and feet like any self-respecting human, but Tasle knew not of what a harpy could and couldn’t do, so they decided to observe with whatever chances that they could. They were after all looking for herbs to stockade their supplies for the later seasons, and to at least prepare to dry whatever they could father quickly in the perfect climate.
“Greetings.” They spoke with their hands up in the air and approached the harpy slowly. They were recalling information that their pa had told them about harpies to approach them slowly, and show that you were of no threat, that they shouldn’t have any reason to attempt harm you.
the harpy in question raised her head, a brilliant honey golden in hue for eyes, watching them carefully. Eyes narrowing, but she was still preoccupied with what was glinting in the ground, leaving her a momentarily distracted at what was directly shiny. It was quite clear that this harpy was clearly separated from her flock, been distracted by something clearly shiny. A huge rookie mistake, and something that had even Tasle even amused for even human children would get distracted and wander off following the fluttering of a butterfly wing. They could tell that the young harpy was indeed inexperienced, having only previous experience with her flock, not having to fly alone, to find themselves in an unknown land, with some stranger that was speaking to them.
“I mean you no harm, can you understand me?” they continued taking another step forward, and slowly descended downwards keeping their eye on the only creature that had wicked sharp talons that functioned as knives.
Classic human interaction, asking if another species understood the words that were coming out of the one that deemed themselves superior. Tasle was, of course, nervous, but the harpy relaxed her stance, and raised her head up confidently, even smug even that this human dare shows their fear in the likes of her. That was good behavior.
“Earthworm show fear to mighty Hiroyu! Serves earthworm right!”
Tasle almost found that statement even more hilarious but guess where this harpy was from her mannerism. She was from the due far east, in the cavern outcrops, that was far too dangerous for any other humanoid, or other creature to travel towards for it was impossible to reach the summits of most of the outcrops without dying in the response.
“Mighty eh? By the looks of things, you are a flighting? The first solo flight alone, you are supposed to bring metals back aren’t ya?”
Hiroyu grew almost angry at the response of the human, how dare they become amused at the mighty Hiroyu! It wasn’t her fault that she got distracted by the shiny thing in the ground, it called to her, wanting her to bring it home. And she was still looking for it. Not wanting to show or appear flustered, the harpy kicked her foot, in her annoyance only bringing more humor out of the shaman, who bit their lip in response.
“Hiroyu does not appreciate been mocked by an earthworm.”
“I have a name; I do hope you realize that.”
Name? Hiroyu tilted her head in response, she only assumed that all land walkers went by one name, worm. Whatever they were, and worm. They were all roped together has a worm, it mattered not what exactly. Folding her arms onto her chest, she still looked completely clueless on the premise of names. She had no idea of what to assume.
Tasle had a feeling that reeducation was in order without ruining the culture and language that this here harpy spoke. Knowing fully well that Altair would be amused and yet insulted to be grouped into the same lot has themselves has a “worm.”
- Altair took their chances and stretched slightly walking around the from here and there, keeping an eye out for unusual and expected to show up, even when it came to a requested gatherer. The incubus was whistling lowly, what exactly exploring and walking watching the border for something that would walk across the border.
Well, there was someone, a feline someone. Altair yawned slightly, sleepily. This has been a long awaiting even the spring breeze was working their magic on the unsuspecting incubus, and soon enough eyelids were growing heavy, as they yawned further settling slightly. No warning afterward, the incubi was dozing lightly in response. The only thing that woke Altair up was a paw prod on his back, followed by cool mercury colored eyes were watching them, calmly. Her tail slowly swishing in the breeze, has the brown-colored feline shift was tilting her head, her fur been played with the gentlest of breeze.
“how long have you been watching me?”
“You tell me, I have just crossed the what I assume is your territory?” she still watching the incubus slowly, her eyes were hiding nothing but spoke of anything that went through those pools of melted silver.
